Tigerwood: As its name suggests, this exotic hardwood exhibits a light tan to an orange/reddish brown background with a variety of dark brownish black striping, from fine lines to bold brush strokes. It exhibits a large degree of color change with a pronounced darkening of the background under the stripes from a light tan or orange brown to a dark reddish brown, which makes the stripes less visible over time. Tigerwood is 170% as hard as red oak (2160 on the Janka scale vs. 1260 for red oak).
